The number of Covid-19 cases in Ho Chi Minh City reached nearly 2,000 VND

Ho Chi Minh City today recorded 138 Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of community-transmitted Covid-19 cases from April 27 to now to 1,922.

This is the third highest number of infections in Ho Chi Minh City since the outbreak appeared a year and a half ago. The number of cases in Ho Chi Minh City in recent days has continuously set a record, with 862 cases in 6 days. Yesterday, the city recorded 166 cases, the previous days were 137, 135, 149, 137.

From June 20, Ho Chi Minh City’s number of cases surpassed Bac Ninh, ranking second in the country, currently only after Bac Giang (5,488 cases).

According to the Center for Disease Control of Ho Chi Minh City (HCDC), 138 new cases of infection today, including 127, are contacts of previously announced patients who have been isolated or are in a blockade area; Nine cases detected through screening are under epidemiological investigation.

127 contact cases include chains related to the Phuc Hung mission group (10), De Tham scrap collection point, district 1 (5), Ehome 3 (25), Hnam Mobile (12), Kim Minh company, district 5 (5), Binh Tan 2 neighborhood market (7), chain of mechanical workshops in Hoc Mon (3), Tan Phu District Hospital (2), mechanical workshop in Go Vap (1), Trung Son Binh company Tan (2), Hoc Mon wholesale market (3), Binh Dien market (1), Tan Phu Trung industrial park (9), alley on Phan Van Tri street (2), staff of District 7 People’s Committee (1), Hospital for Tropical Diseases (4), Tan Thoi 3 hamlet, Hoc Mon (1), Phu Tho apartment building in district 11 (1), Minh Thong company in Hoc Mon (3); related bottled water company (2).

There are also cases involving patients, including cases 10528 (3), 13256 (1), 9723(1), 10118 (4), 11300 (8), 11990 (2), 13085 (1), 11202 (2) and 6 cases of contact with patients in other provinces.

Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City has sampled more than 730,000 people, of which 15,128 are F1, the rest are F2, and expanded surveillance related to community Covid-19 cases.

On the morning of June 22, Ho Chi Minh City hospitals treated 1,686 patients, out of a total of 3,500 beds, many places were about to run out of bed capacity.

The deploying health sector is implementing a rapid injection campaign of 836,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine within 7 days, which is the part of the city vaccine prioritized by the Ministry of Health to be allocated from Japan’s support to Vietnam, starting from June 19th.

From 0:00 on June 20, the city implemented Directive 10 of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. HCDC recommends that people strictly follow the regulations under this directive, only leaving the house when absolutely necessary. Strictly implement disease prevention measures according to the 5K message of the Ministry of Health when leaving the house, proactively make medical declaration when recognizing that you are at risk.
