Redmi Watch: Design and Display
The Redmi Watch is available in Ivory, Black, Blue and Olive. Speaking of belts, the company has also made them available in these four colors. We found the ivory color look for review which is so beautiful. But when using, you should use it very carefully because, because of the light color, it spoils quickly.
The design of the Redmi Watch is great and comfortable to wear. The belt is made from high quality silicone material and the watch module is made of plastic. On the side of the device you will see a button that is convenient to use. With this power button you can turn the watch on and off, and since it is on the outer edge of the watch, it is not visible, which gives the watch a classic look. To remove the strap, feature buttons are provided on both sides. That is, if you want to wear some other strap that is not from the company, you may have a problem.
Speaking of the back of the watch, here you will find a magnetic charging point and a heart rate sensor. The watch weighs 35 grams and is 10.9 millimeters thick. Xiaomi says that even if the watch goes into the water, it will not go bad. This means it can be worn between workouts and swimming.
Now let’s talk about the Redmi Watch display, a 1.3 inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 320×320 pixels. It has a full touch color display and 2.5D glass protection to prevent scratches. The display bezels are thick. The colors on the screen look light and pale. To use the clock in the sun, you need to set it to the maximum level. At the same time the same brightness level is required indoors. Otherwise, there may be tension in the eyes. When the auto brightness feature is turned on, the brightness is not available as required.
Redmi Watch: Features and Performance
The Redmi Watch has 11 sports modes. The watch features fitness modes such as outdoor run, treadmill, outdoor cycling, indoor cycling, freestyle, walking, trekking, trail run, pool swimming, open water swimming and cricket. Another special mode built into the Redmi Watch is the built-in GPS.
It also has a PPG 24×7 heart rate monitor. It has accelerometer, gyroscope, L-sensor, compass and barometer. Remember that if you are sick, don’t just rely on health readings taken from the clock. We felt the daily calorie reading was wrong. While long-term reading on the Xiaomi Wear app you will find daily statistics on the watch.
You need to download Xiaomi Wear app on your phone to set up Redmi Watch. After that, you will be able to use it by following the on-screen instructions. Speaking of the watch’s user interface, it’s clean and easy to use. Most navigation is done by swipe gestures. When you swipe down, on the notification panel, you’ll find the Quick Settings option. The touch of the watch is not very smooth and sometimes the response to the touch also seems to be low. Weather information is also available in this smartwatch of Redmi. You can use this watch to set alarms, receive notifications, and control music.
Redmi Watch Battery
In terms of battery, the Redmi smartwatch comes with a 230 mAh battery. Xiaomi claims that the battery will last for 10 days. For charging, Xiaomi has included a Pogo pin charger in the box. The display dial must be docked to the charger for charging. It takes about 2 hours for the smartwatch to fully charge. We used this watch for several days and saw that the battery life is really nice. According to the company, if the device does not use a heart rate monitor for 24 days and the brightness level is set accordingly, the device can easily last up to 10 days.
Buy a watch or not?
Most smartwatches in this segment have multiple game modes, but the Redmi Watch is one of the few watches to come with built-in GPS.
The battery of Redmi Watch will last for 5 days even after heavy use and you do not need to charge for 9.10 days for regular use. The Redmi Watch weighs just 35 grams and is comfortable to wear. The company also offers great options in color options. If you want a smartwatch in the Covid-19 that can measure blood-oxygen levels, the Redmi Watch is not for you. It does not have SPO2 monitoring. The UMI of Redmi Watch is very simple so you will not get any animation, transition. The Redmi Watch lags behind most smartwatches in this segment.
